Born in Valencia, Venezuela, by eight years of age Natalie Giugni had lived in South America, Italy, and America. She began formal training by ten. An early series of pastel renderings created during a year in Brazil, depicting scenes of one of the Seven Wonders of the World (the Falls du Iguacú), earned Natalie a full scholarship to Manhattan's School of Visual Arts, from where she graduated. Diverse cultural experiences in Japan, Europe, and the Caribbean Islands continue to influence aesthetics in her later works.
